June 2027 – May 2028 | Summer immersion + part-time academic year

Join an early-stage venture capital firm investing at the intersection of AI, climate, and frontier technology.

Over 12 months, fellows learn alongside Bombellii’s investment team, developing the skills to evaluate emerging markets, identify promising companies, engage with founders, and assess early-stage investment opportunities.

The fellowship begins with a structured summer immersion and continues part-time throughout the academic year, combining guided investment practice, mentorship, and progressively more advanced learning experiences.

The Work

Learn by doing & develop investment judgment.

Fellows participate in a structured learning experience built around the questions, methods, and decisions of early-stage venture investing. Working alongside the Bombellii team, they progress from guided research and analysis toward increasingly sophisticated investment exercises and supervised engagement with real opportunities.

  • Explore Emerging Markets

Learn to develop an investment perspective by researching emerging technologies, mapping markets, identifying structural shifts, and evaluating where new opportunities may form.

  • Source & Engage

Develop sourcing skills through ecosystem research, company discovery, and supervised engagement with founders, researchers, and industry participants.

  • Develop Investment Conviction

Practice evaluating investment opportunities through market and company analysis, founder discussions, commercial and technical diligence, and investment recommendations reviewed with the team.

  • Understand Venture Firm Building

Gain exposure to how an emerging venture firm develops its investment processes, research capabilities, sourcing networks, and strategic priorities through guided projects and team discussions.

The Fellow Experience

Meaningful learning. Direct exposure. Lasting development.

The Bombellii Fellowship is designed for aspiring investors who want to learn by doing. Fellows receive guidance from the investment team, develop their own perspectives, and build the skills needed to assess early-stage investment opportunities.

Over 12 months, the experience progresses from foundational investment training and supervised practice toward more advanced analysis, independent judgment, and readiness for a career in venture capital.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to apply, and do I need to be a current student?

The fellowship is primarily designed for graduate students, including MBA, master’s and other graduate level candidates, who bring meaningful professional experience and expect to remain enrolled throughout the 2027–2028 academic year.

We particularly value experience in business, technology, entrepreneurship, research, and industry. Exceptional undergraduates and candidates with nontraditional academic pathways are also encouraged to apply.

Where can applicants be based, and are international candidates eligible?

Applications from candidates worldwide are welcomed. We have a particular interest in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and European Union, where Bombellii is actively developing its investment networks.

Participation arrangements may vary depending on the candidate’s location and applicable legal requirements. Geographic eligibility will be confirmed during the selection process.

What backgrounds, skills, and experience are you looking for? Do I need prior venture capital or technical expertise?

Prior venture capital experience is not required. We value professional and academic backgrounds that combine analytical rigor, intellectual curiosity, independent judgment, and an ability to understand emerging technologies and markets.

Our fellows bring diverse perspectives across business, technology, entrepreneurship, finance, research, and industry. Specialized technical expertise can be valuable, but is not required for every investment area. We intentionally seek complementary experiences and perspectives across the cohort.

What is the time commitment, and can I participate alongside academic or professional responsibilities?

The fellowship begins with a structured summer learning program from June through August 2027, requiring approximately 20 hours per week.

From September 2027 through May 2028, participation decreases to approximately 10–15 hours per week, with flexibility around classes, examinations, and other academic responsibilities.

Candidates should plan to participate throughout the 12-month program.

Is the fellowship remote, hybrid, or in person? Is travel required?

The fellowship is fully remote. No travel or relocation is required.

Depending on their location and interests, fellows may have opportunities to attend relevant ecosystem events or engage with local startup and research communities. These activities are optional.

Is the fellowship compensated, and are there any costs associated with participating?

The fellowship is currently designed as an unpaid educational program. There are no application or program fees, and no required travel or relocation.

Participation terms are subject to applicable requirements in each candidate’s location. Where available, Bombellii can support students seeking academic credit or recognition through their universities.

The fellowship does not guarantee subsequent employment with Bombellii Ventures.

How and when do I apply, and what materials are required?

Applications open November 10, 2026, and close January 29, 2027.

Candidates can apply through the online application portal linked on this page. The application will ask about your academic and professional background, relevant experience, and interest in early-stage venture investing.

What does the selection process involve, and when will applicants hear back?

The selection process focuses on candidates’ experiences, analytical thinking, curiosity, and potential to benefit from and contribute to the fellowship’s learning environment.

All applicants will be notified of decisions by March 27, 2027.

What happens after the fellowship, and are there opportunities to remain involved with Bombellii?

The fellowship is designed to prepare participants for opportunities in venture capital and related fields by developing investment judgment, analytical skills, and practical experience.

Fellows may remain connected to Bombellii and its professional network after completing the program. Participation does not guarantee employment or continued engagement with the firm.
